Earvin “Magic” Johnson is a professional Basketball player who dominated the court as one of America’s best basketball players for more than a decade, earning three NBA MVP. Magic Johnson was born on August 14, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, he grew up in a large family with nine brothers and sisters. Magic played professional basketball for Michigan State University and was 6’9” tall that allowed him to be an impressive point guard. From college he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers and did really good in his first season. In that season he averaged 18 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Magic won NB Finals MVP award in the finals against defeating the Philadelphia 76ers, by helping his team win four of the six finals games. During his third season with the Lakers Magic again led his team into the finals achieving victory again, though he did have an loaded team including players Jamaal Wilkes, norm Nixon and Kareem Abdul Jabbar who people argue that he is the best Laker of all time. During his career he met an incredible rival named Larry Bird, who proved that he could take on an challenge, in the first game Larry Bird took the victory home with the Boston Celtics against the Los Angeles Lakers.
